Middle-aged Momma, looking for time and exploring creativity.
I started taking photographs in earnest in January 2006, after my dear husband gifted me with a Canon Rebel XT for Christmas. In a previous life, he had worked as a photojournalist for a newspaper and I inherited several of his lenses (for my personal use only, he maintains that they still belong to him… I roll my eyes and reply, “whatever, dear”), including my favorite, the F2.8 100mm macro lens. I do shoot with the kit lens (18-55mm), as I enjoy the wide angle and the freedom to change it to suit what I’m looking at. I also shoot with his bigass wonderful F2.8 70-200mm. Sweet light, there…
Last year (2006) I challenged myself to shoot a picture a day, and ended up with Snapshot Gratitude and Snapshot Gratitude Rejects to show for the effort. This year, with my work life increasingly demanding more and more of my personal life, I’ve scaled back to this single blog, snapshot gratitude redux, in which I try to capture lifebits as often as I can, but sadly it doesn’t happen everyday.
If you miss the daily gratitudes as much as I do, be sure to check out my friend, Christine Maclean and her Daily Bread. Her daily vignettes are not only entertaining, but thought-provoking. My day is more complete having read them…
